Want to Advertise on Trail Builder Mag? Here's How

As we’re ramping up to the official release of Volume 1, Issue 1 of Trail Builder Mag, we couldn’t be more excited about the growing momentum. We have a wide range of articles coming out in this print issue exploring trail building and related topics in a variety of different countries. As has been mentioned repeatedly, trail building touches on so many topics that there will never be a shortage of what to explore. That is great news! Not only that, but we have new content and articles being worked on for our website. We hear from many of you through emails, DMs, and comments, so we know you’re excited about what we’re building together.

One of the logistics we had to work through was funding for the print magazine, including paying contributors and print costs. I keep reiterating my intentions and plans to be transparent throughout this process. For example, when we announced that we’re selling hats, beanies, coffee, and other merch on our website that yes, it was to begin generating revenue for our magazine. Not only that, but we’re making anywhere from $5-$8 per item sold. Again, it all goes into building up our operating costs. The goal is to be sustainable from Day One. That we are.

I debated about how I was going to tackle paid ads on the website as well as for the print magazine. Ultimately I decided that was the way we needed to go. But here’s what’s exciting. Long before I landed on this, a number of you reached out to me anyways on behalf of your company or organization wanting to advertise with us. How cool is that? After lots of internal wrestling, I am moving forward with it. Why? Here are the reasons …

First, to cover printing costs. It’s as simple as that. With printing, the more copies we print, the cheaper it gets. However, the challenge with our first print issue is how many to print? 100? 1,000? We want to cover our print costs from the get-go. Second, to cover the costs of paying the contributors to our print magazine, whether writers or photographers. Again, it’s as simple as that.

With all that said, I’m excited to share our very first Media Kit with you (sounds official, doesn’t it?). In the Media Kit, I share with you a bit of our current landscape regarding social media and website analytics. This Media Kit also allows me to continue talking about the mission of Trail Builder Mag. Lastly, for those who want to advertise in our print mag or our website (or both), I share the cost breakdown and how it all works.

If you have any questions about this or are interested in advertising with us, please email me at sean@trailbuildermag.com. To download our Media Kit click the button below.
