Why Are We Doing Magazine Subscriptions Like This?

For the past year, I (Sean) have been thinking a lot about how to roll out magazine subscriptions for Trail Builder Magazine. I’ve debated the timing of this decision because I’ve heard from so many of you who are interested in subscriptions to avoid the hassle of buying individual issues.

As I thought more about it, I kept coming back to the same question: What added value or benefits could Trail Builder Magazine offer through subscriptions?

Then two things clicked:

• Building Relationships with Brands: Over the past couple of years, we’ve formed meaningful friendships and partnerships with various brands through giveaways, collaborations, and reviews. These relationships mean a lot to me. Whenever we work with other brands, my priority is ensuring we’re adding value for them as well as for you, our readers.

• Unlocking Industry Discounts: Like many of you, I rarely make industry-related purchases without some kind of discount or perk. These programs make a big difference, and I’ve come to appreciate them even more as a customer. That’s when it hit me: why not offer something similar through Trail Builder Magazine subscriptions?

This approach lets us provide additional value beyond the magazine itself — whether it’s exclusive discounts or other perks that make subscribing worthwhile. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about enhancing the experience and creating a community that’s rewarding for everyone involved.
