TranSierra Norte is Back for 2023!

The Original Mexican Enduro Party-Race.

TranSierra Norte is the first international Multi-Day Enduro Mountain Bike race in Mexico. Taking place in the Sierra Norte Region of Oaxaca, South Central Mexico. The race features a combination of physically demanding stage racing, traditional food & drink, and cultural immersion. A week of adventure, just before the iconic celebration “Día de Muertos”, a traditional festivity that reminisces on those who have passed and celebrates life after death. During these times, the city is covered with “ofrendas” (traditional tables with offerings for the dead) , Orange “Cempasuchil” Flowers, candles, Candy Skulls and “Papel Picado” (paper flags). October 23-28, 2023.

Over the past 10+ years, our team has explored the deep forests of the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca, exploring some of the millenary trails that were once used by the indigenous communities to connect one village to the other. After countless hours of Trail Building, scouting, working with local communities, organizing 5 international events and running a year round custom tour company (TSN The Ride), Oaxaca is now one of the most popular MTB destinations in North America.

For this year’s event, we have developed a new riding area where we will celebrate the ones who left us by riding and racing fresh trails in a completely new riding area, exclusively built for the event.

Race Concept

Blind Racing: TranSierra Norte is a true blind enduro racing experience, with no practice or prior information about the race course. Rider’s skills and fitness will be put to the test during the 4 days of racing. There will be between 16-22 timed stages during the duration of the event and a combination of climbing and shuttles.

Bikes & Culture: Oaxaca would not be the world class Mountain Biking destination it is today without the off-the-bike cultural offerings. This region has deep traditions and history. From parades to colorful markets and everything in between, Oaxaca has it all.

Community & Social Impact: In Mexico, opportunities for economic growth in remote areas such as the Sierra Norte can be limited. We work with local communities to ensure that the trails built have a positive economic and environmental impact on the surrounding localities. On the other side, racers not only get to push their riding in between the tape, they also have the chance to meet riders from all over the world and be part of the TSN family.

Stress Free: Traveling to the unknown with bikes can be stressful, from hotel reservations to luggage storage and travel recommendations, the TSN team is committed to provide a stress free experience, providing hotel bookings, concierge service and before/after race tours to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
